QApplicant email accounts
A

All applicant accounts created after September 23, 2009 should check their email at our hosted email site: mail.my.uwstout.edu . These accounts are easily identifiable as the username will have the new naming convention of last name, first initial, and then 4 random numbers. Older applicant accounts not having the 4 random numbers in their username will need to check their email at our Webmail site UNLESS they have transitioned to the new email system.

Whether using the new email system or old, all applicants still need to activate their account at https://password.uwstout.edu before they can check their email.

QStout emails delivered to My Mail's Junk E-Mail folder
A

Some emails sent from faculty/staff or students who have not migrated to my.uwstout.edu are ending up in the Junk E-mail folder of students who have migrated. If you have migrated your account, you will need to check your Junk E-mail folder regularly to verify that there are not messages being missed. You can add people to your safe senders list to ensure that they do not end up in your Junk E-Mail again.

To add a specific person to your Safe Senders list:

1. Right click on a message in your Junk E-Mail folder.

2. Choose Junk E-Mail from the menu.

3. Choose to either add the sender to your safe list or the sender's entire domain. For instance if the sender was using an @uwstout.edu account, it may be a good idea to add the sender's entire domain so that all email sent from UW-Stout faculty, etc, will make it to your inbox.
