QHow much disk space do I have?
AYou have a total of 70 megabytes of disk space on the server. This includes any web pages that you might place on the server.

AFTP is no longer available on the student web server.  To upload your files login to https://bluedrive.uwstout.edu and upload your files to your wwwroot folder.  You can also connect to your website using a WEBDAV Client.

QHow do I map my network drive(s)on a Windows based computer?

Map Drive – Windows



  • Right-Click  on “My Computer”  and choose Map Network Drive
  • On Windows XP, to map your student share (H:) enter the following server name:
    http://bluedrive.uwstout.edu/users/students/username
    where username is your UW-Stout email username
    Example, John Doe: http://bluedrive.uwstout.edu/users/students/doej
  • On Windows Vista, to map your student share (H:) enter the following server name:
    https://bluedrive.uwstout.edu/users/students/username
    where username is your UW-Stout email username
    Example, John Doe: https://bluedrive.uwstout.edu/users/students/doej
  • Individual Colleges also provide storage space for class needs. The mappings for these are:

    Math (HH201/208)
       M: (Personal Drive) \\mscs.uwstout.edu\username$
       S: (Shared Drive) \\mscs.uwstout.edu\studentshared
    CTEM (FH104/201/210/215/318/320, TW160, MH293)
       M: (Personal Drive) \\ctem.uwstout.edu\username$
       S: (Shared Drive) \\ctem.uwstout.edu\studentshared
    GIS
       M: (Personal Drive)\\gisFS.uwstout.edu\username$

  • Click Connect using “different user name”

    • Username BlueDrive: username (without @uwstout.edu)
    • Username departmental shares: username@uwstout.edu
    • Password: email password

  • Check the box, “Reconnect at logon” to save the network drive
  • Click “Finish.”

AA mapped drive is a link or a path to a network drive. A network drive is a storage drive that is not physically located on your computer.

Map Drive – Mac

  • Click “Go” menu in your main Finder window.
  • Click “Connect to Server”
  • Map to their network drives using the following for server name and then click “Connect:”
  • For your personal student share (H:) enter the following server name:
    https://bluedrive.uwstout.edu/users/students/username
    where username is your UW-Stout email username
    Example, John Doe: https://bluedrive.uwstout.edu/users/students/doej
  • Enter your UW-Stout email username and password when prompted

QMy student WebSite is missing?

On December 26, 2007 the studentweb server was replaced.  On January 1, 2008 the new system was active.  To access the new system go to https://bluedrive.uwstout.edu. Your website was moved from the old studentweb server and is now located at https://bluedrive.uwstout.edu/users/students/username/wwwroot where username is your UW-Stout email username.
